Bio
Vera Beren is a native NYC actress, director, sound designer, singer/band leader, and a creator of music and soundscapes. She has appeared in and or directed/sound designed productions at Abrons Art Center, HERE, The Signature Theatre, Ontological, La Mama, 3 Legged Dog, Symphony Space,The Vineyard Playhouse, TNC, Dixon Place, The Culture Project, The Kitchen, EST, 29th St.Rep, Harold Clurman Theater, Soho Rep, Symphony Space, The Flea, Blue Heron Arts Center, 45 Bleecker St., Theatorium, The Paradise Theater, Downtown Art Co., One Dream, The Women’s Project & New Georges.
She is a founding member of Concrete Temple Theatre and has been a member of The Living Theatre, The Alchemical Theatre, and her own company, Let's Slap Ulysses. She appeared as The Empress Chi Chi Valenti in Todd Stephen’s feature film Gypsy 83, has done numerous voices for animated and puppet films and theatre, and is currently the voice of Madame Zaza in Moonglow Theatre of the Air’s radio play Stella Maris written by Len Jenkins.
