Robin de Jesús

Bio

Robin de Jesús is a Tony-nominated actor. His first major role was in the independent film Camp, set at a fictional upstate New York performing arts summer camp, which has gained a devoted following since its release in 2003. That same year, he joined the Broadway production of Wicked in the role of Boq.

In 2008, de Jesús received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Sonny in the Broadway musical In the Heights. In 2010, he joined the revival cast of La Cage aux Folles as the spirited housekeeper Jacob, which earned him his second Tony Award nomination. In 2019, he received a third Tony Award nomination, for Best Featured Actor in a Play, for his turn as Emory in The Boys in the Band, a role he reprised in the 2020 film based upon the play. He also had a recurring role in an arc of NBC's “Law & Order: SVU” and stars in the upcoming biopic tick, tick....Boom!, based upon the life of the late Rent composer and writer Jonathan Larson.
