Paul Sparks

Bio

Paul Sparks is an American stage, TV, and film actor.

On stage, he has had notable roles in Buried Child, Edward Albee's At Home with the Zoo, and the Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway production of Hedda Gabler.

Sparks is an in-demand TV performer, appearing in everything from “Waco,” “Sweetbitter,” three “Law & Order” series franchises, and several seasons of the Netflix political drama “House of Cards” to a recurring role in HBO's acclaimed limited seriesThe Night Of” and a stint as attorney David Tellis in the Starz anthology drama “The Girlfriend Experience.” He is also well known for his role as gangster Mickey Doyle in the HBO period drama “Boardwalk Empire,” which netted him and cast members two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Sparks has also starred in films including Buried Child and The Greatest Showman, and had a scene-stealing comedic role in the Issa Rae-Kumail Nanjiani romcom The Lovebirds. In 2021, he narrated Billy Summers, novelist Stephen King's thriller about a hit man with a conscience, for Simon & Schuster Audio. He currently stars in Apple TV's “Physical.”
