Maleek Rae is a multidisciplinary chain-breaker from Detroit’s Eastside, recognized for theatre works like Ghetto Alchemy: A Lunchroom Survival Guide (The Tank). They’ve also appeared in films such as Law & Order: SVU & Organized Crime (NBC), HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness, and The Best Man: The Final Chapters (Peacock). As a playwright, they authored Ceremonies for Alligator Bait or Guttah and Love Birds: or how to fix a broken heart in a day. Recently honored with NYSAF's 2025 Founders Award and Princess Grace Foundation's Honoraria award, as well s being an artist-in-residence at JACK and The Cell.
