John Giampietro is a Brooklyn-based director of opera and theatre. Recent productions include Year of the Rooster at Ensemble Studio Theatre and Le Nozze di Figaro at The Juilliard School. Productions at The Accidental Theatre, Actors Theater of Louisville, Vermont Shakespeare, Phoenix Theater, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Flea Theater, The Juilliard School, Curtis Institute of Music, and the Chautauqua Institution. John is a frequent director for Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Obie-award-winning playwright’s program Youngblood. John is a lifetime member of The Ensemble Studio Theatre and a faculty member of The Chautauqua Institution School of Music, Hofstra University, and The Juilliard School. Upcoming projects include Werther at Chautauqua Institution and a reading of Strength of God and other grotesques, Mr. Giampietro’s adaptation of the novel Winesburg, Ohio at E.S.T.
