J. Smith-Cameron appeared recently in NYC, at Red Bull Theatre Co as Madame in The Maids and at The Public Theatre as ‘Jane,’ in Richard Nelson’s play Sweet and Sad, (2012 Obie and Drama Desk awards). This year she is in movie theatres in Kenneth Lonergan’s Margaret, for which she won the International Cinephile Society’s Best Supporting Actress award. This summer she starts filming the new dramatic series, “Rectify”, in the role of ‘Janet,’ for Sundance Channel, written and directed by Ray McKinnon.  “True Blood” fans may remember her as ‘Melinda Mickens.’
