Dipika Guha

Bio

Dipika Guha is a Calcutta-born, UK-raised playwright and television writer. Her plays have been developed and produced in the United States, Canada, Russia, and the UK. They include Yoga Play (published by Sam French), Blown Youth (published by Playscripts), and The Art of Gaman (Theatre 503, UK). She’s currently under commission at Manhattan Theatre Club, South Coast Rep, Barrington Stage and Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Dipika was a Hodder Fellow at Princeton University and was a Venturous Fellow at the Lark Play Development Center in New York for her play Passing.

For television she’s written for shows including American Gods, Sneaky Pete, and two seasons of Black Monday on Showtime. She’s currently working on a pilot adaption of Nydia Hetherington’s novel The Funambulist for FilmNation. Dipika is a proud member of New Dramatists and the Ma Yi Writers Lab. She earned a BA from University College London, was a Frank Knox Fellow at Harvard University, and has an MFA from the Yale School of Drama under Paula Vogel.
