Bio
Actor/writer/commedienne living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Her short screenplay Mary & Louise won best short script at LA Comedy Shorts 2012, completed filming in June, and is currently in post-production. Here’s What I Like…And Now I’ll Tell You Why Herher comic web series about a delusional talk show host has been screened in film festivals all around the nation including Waterfront Film Film Festival, Garden State Film Festival, the Winter Film Awards (Best Short nom.), TriMedia Film Festival (Audience Favorite), Chashama Film Festival (CFF Staff Award), L.A. Comedy Shorts 2010, 2011, Connecticutt Film Festival, Brooklyn Girl Film Festival, Bowery Poetry Club BVEW’s Comedy Night, Big Effin Deal at The Cove, and many others. Amy is a member of The Ensemble Studio Theatre in NYC where she has worked as an actress with such writers as Josh Conkel, Cori Thomas, Laura Jacqmin, Elizabeth Meriwether, Amy Fox, Horton Foote, Eileen Myers, and Jon Kern, and many others. Recent New York acting credits include Tiny Bubbles (New Directions), Sluts of Sutton Drive (E.S.T.), Waking up (E.S.T) and One Thing I like to Say Is…(Clubbed Thumb). Film/video roles include A Tribute to Everyone Who is Getting Too Old for Video Games (cracked.com, dir Bill Schaumberg), Cheaper To Kippah (dir/prod Brian Ash), Escape from New York is Not an Option ( dir. Levi Albrino, w/ Luke Matheny). Coming up soon she can be seen in the role of Mary in Mary & Louise (dir. Abigail Zealey Bess) and in the role of Dot in David Joshnson’s Mothra Is Waiting (dir. Kevin Newbury) and she is playing the reoccuring role of Melissa in Adam Szymkowicz’s soon to be released web series Compulsive Love (dir by Kevan Tucker starring Alex Anfanger (Next Time on Lonny) and Laura Ramedei. As a playwright, Amy is a recipient of the New Voices Fellowship, and her first one act The Changing of the Guard was produced in Ensemble Studio Theatre’s One-Act Play Marathon alongside John Guare and Tina Howe, and was published in The Best American Short Play Anthology. Other plays: Valentine, Good Times/Bad Times, Throws of Love,Cat.her.in.e (MITF best solo show performance nominee). Amy is currently working on a collection of memoir essays entitled “What To Expect” (readings: Naked Angels, Tuesdays @9, Nutsackett, E.S.T’s Strudel and Shorts).
